The band formed back in 1981 when singer Bill Pettijohn and four other musicians got together. The band decided to specialize in the popular music of the Doors. To carry out that image, they named the band Moonlight Drive, the name of an old doors hit. The members of the group are Bill Pettijohn who handles lead vocals, drummer Bruce Moore, guitarist Tom Brame, Mark Casterline on keyboards, and Tim Layman on bass guitar.
